AM Mastering Studio is owned by Peter Litchfield, a music producer, mastering engineer and industry professional of 25 years.
Peter began his music career at 17 years old, as a DJ on Rude FM. He became well-known on the popular London-based radio station for his Sunday afternoon slot.
In 1999, he formed the Beatfreaks, with friend DJ Plex and legendary Jungle/Drum & Bas producer Bizzy B. Together they pioneered a unique UK Garage sound that combined the harder edged beats and darker basslines of Jungle music with the slower tempo of UK Garage. This sound became a precursor for early Dubstep and UK Bassline music.
The trio enjoyed global success, including a publishing deal with EMI, multiple compilation album features and Top 40 remix work among other accolades.
After the group split, Peter released further music independently, studied a music degree, and continued honing his mixing and mastering skills.
Today he runs AM Mastering Studio, with a global client base that includes EMI, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, BBC, Sky, Global, and numerous indie labels and independent artists.
In addition, he continues to release electronic music as Peter Lix. His most notable recent track, Over Your Soul, has clocked up half-a-million streams on Spotify alone.
Peter has a plethora of music industry experience, from music production to distribution, label management and licensing. This valuable experience has put him in a unique position to not only master music, but to offer consultation and advice to his clients.
